In 2001, this former coal mining site was converted into a campus for higher education institutions and businesses. Various high tech enterprises, the School of Architecture, the University of Applied Science for Public Administration, the University of Applied Sciences for Technology and Economics, and the Saarland Police Academy are all located on this campus. Contrasting architecture (modern-style new constructions, converted historic mining buildings, old shaft towers) make this location an interesting, diverse filming site. Surrounded by green spaces and recreation areas (former spoil pit).
