description

brief description:

the Grand Café Foy, which received its name around 1850, is housed in the oldest building on prestigious Stanislas Square, the so called Pavillon Jacquet. The foundation stone for this historic building was laid in 1755, and it was only afterward that other buildings were built around Stanislas Square in the same style. Pavillon Jacquet was inaugurated on 21 November 1755 by Stanislaw Leszczynski, then King of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Duke of Lorraine. The Grand Café Foy extends over two floors, the first floor being a mezzanine, an intermediate floor, which was subsequently installed in the former high-ceilinged entrance hall
